Volunteer Code of Conduct
Purpose
Pucks With Purpose is committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for everyone we serve. Volunteers are ambassadors of our mission and are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, respect, and professionalism while representing the organization.
Volunteer Expectations
As a volunteer for Pucks With Purpose, I agree to:

1. Support the Mission

Promote the mission and values of Pucks With Purpose.

Act in a manner that reflects positively on the organization.

Treat all participants, families, donors, sponsors, staff, and fellow volunteers with respect and dignity.

2. Maintain Professional Conduct

Be courteous, honest, and dependable.

Arrive on time and fulfill assigned responsibilities.

Notify the Volunteer Coordinator as soon as possible if I cannot attend a scheduled event or shift.

Follow all instructions provided by event leaders and board members.

3. Create a Safe Environment
-
Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and harassment-free environment.

Never engage in bullying, discrimination, harassment, intimidation, or abusive behavior.

Report any safety concerns, injuries, or inappropriate conduct immediately.

Follow all emergency procedures and event safety guidelines.

4. Respect Participants

Treat every individual fairly regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.

Be patient, encouraging, and supportive.

Avoid favoritism or inappropriate relationships with participants.

5. Protect Confidential Information
-
Respect the privacy of participants, donors, volunteers, and staff.

Do not share confidential information obtained through volunteering unless authorized by the Board of Directors.

6. Use Organizational Property Responsibly

Use equipment, supplies, and donated items only for approved organizational purposes.
-
Report damaged or missing property immediately.
-
Help ensure donations are handled honestly and accurately.

7. Social Media and Public Communications
-
Represent Pucks With Purpose positively online and in public.
-
Do not post photos or personal information about participants without proper authorization.

Do not speak on behalf of the organization unless authorized by the Board.

8. Alcohol, Drugs, and Tobacco
-
Volunteers may not volunteer while under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.
-
Smoking or vaping is permitted only in designated areas and never around youth participants.

9. Conflicts of Interest
-
Disclose any personal, financial, or business interests that could influence volunteer responsibilities.
-
Avoid using volunteer service for personal gain.

10. Compliance with Policies

Volunteers agree to follow all Pucks With Purpose policies, including:

Photo and Media Release Policy

Safety Procedures

Confidentiality Policy

Anti-Harassment Policy
Reporting Concerns
Volunteers are encouraged to report concerns regarding safety, misconduct, discrimination, harassment, fraud, or unethical behavior to a Board Member or the Volunteer Coordinator. Reports made in good faith will be treated respectfully and without retaliation.
Volations
Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in:

Coaching or corrective action

Suspension from volunteer duties

Immediate dismissal from the volunteer program

Notification of appropriate authorities when required by law
